Sunday, February 9, 2025, was World Marriage Day. SJB’s Spiritual Development Committee hosted its annual Celebration of Marriage reception and luncheon to celebrate. Our Special Events Committee prepared and served the food. Father Workman, our Parochial Vicar, gave the blessing. Melissa Barber-Tarolla, our Director of Discipleship, was M.C. After lunch, Mellisa asked couples celebrating “Milestone Anniversaries” in 2025 (25, 50, and 50+ years) three questions. One person from each couple shared: the Church where they were married, the name of the priest who presided, and something memorable from the day. Many answers provoked smiles from the group. Couples brought their wedding photos for display.
Each milestone couple received a gift bag assembled by the Spiritual Development Committee. The dessert was wedding cake. Kathi DiVincenzo from the Spiritual Development Committee led a special prayer to conclude the event. There was a special blessing for all married couples at the end of all the Masses this weekend. We appreciate all married couples for their witness of God’s love and fidelity. God bless you always.
