On Sunday, October 10, Pope Francis opened the process for the 2021-2023 Synod which he describes as a grace-filled “journeying together” for the Church of the Third Millennium. He ended his homily with these words: “May we be pilgrims in love with the Gospel and open to the surprises of the Holy Spirit. Let us not miss out on the grace-filled opportunities born of encounter, listening and discernment. In the joyful conviction that, even as we seek the Lord, he always comes with his love to meet us first.”

Bishop Malesic will celebrate an Opening Liturgy on Sunday, October 17 during the 10:30 am Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist to begin the first phase of the three-phase process in the Diocese of Cleveland which will take place through April 22 in all dioceses around the world.
